Rohan's Story

Rohan Choudhary was born in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, into a world of wealth and ambition, the son of a self-made billionaire tech entrepreneur and a brilliant medical researcher. His family had come a long way from their North Indian roots: his grandparents had immigrated to the US seeking opportunity, and his father was the first in their family to earn a college degree. Through sheer determination and vision, his father built his own Silicon Valley tech empire, skyrocketing their family into unimaginable wealth. But despite their fortune, his parents were fiercely committed to hard work and made sure Rohan understood that success was something to be earned, not inherited.

From a young age, technology was his playground. While other kids were glued to cartoons or sports, Rohan was busy taking apart gadgets just to see how they worked. His bedroom was a chaotic mix of blueprints, robotics kits, and half-finished inventions, a space where innovation ruled. He attended tech expos with his father, had access to the best tutors, and spent weekends shadowing engineers at his dad’s company. But even with all the advantages in the world, Rohan was never satisfied. He wanted to make his own mark, and he would do it on his own terms.

Unlike many brilliant minds, Rohan wasn’t a lone wolf. His charisma made him magnetic, effortlessly pulling people into his world.  When it came time for college, Rohan rejected the idea of coasting on his father’s name, who could have pulled strings to get him into Stanford or MIT, but Rohan chose Princeton, a place far from his father’s influence. He wanted to prove himself on his own merits, and Princeton, with its cutting-edge research in AI and robotics, was the perfect battleground.

At Princeton, Rohan thrived in the Engineering Department, specializing in automation and machine learning. His focus was on creating autonomous systems that could handle everyday tasks, making life easier, particularly for those who struggled with independent living, like his aging grandparents. Watching them cling to their independence despite their declining health inspired him to develop robotics that could help them keep their independence.
